SuperTie™ System Overall Advantages

SuperTie™ systems are appropriate for use in all forming applications but are especially beneficial in situations such as architectural finishes because an aesthetically pleasing finish is attained with tremendously reduced labor expenditures. The systems also reduce costs in battered-wall and “odd-sized” tie situations because the rod is cut to the required length at the jobsite.

  • Superior Finishes: Improved architectural finishes, without patches or rust.
  • No Corrosion: The fiberglass form tie material cannot rust, eliminating the need for break-back labor, plugging or patching.
  • Saves Money: Saves dramatically on labor costs. Reduces form tie-related costs as much as 70%.
  • Reduced Inventory: One size fits all jobs. Bulk lengths are cut to the working measurements at the jobsite.
  • Extends Form Life: All forms and form liners strip easily from the structure without damage from the ties.
  • Natural Insulator: Fiberglass tie, which is left in the structure, is electromagnetically transparent, a valuable trait in some applications.
  • Compatibility: SuperTie™ systems are compatible with all job-built and commercially available form systems.

SuperTie™ Smooth Rod Series

SuperTie™ patented fiberglass form tie systems are used to secure concrete formwork during concrete placement and initial hydration, without the inherent limitations and rusting of previously popular steel form tie systems. RJD SuperTie™ can be manufactured in a broad array of colors. The RJD fiberglass tie will never rust, therefore no breakback removal or snap-tie cone patching is ever required, creating superior architectural finishes. There’s a significant reduction of wall-forming labor costs when using the SuperTie™ fiberglass form tie system, and it works well with most wall form systems.

SuperTie™ Coil Rod Series

SuperTie Coil Rod™ secures concrete formwork during concrete placement. The fiberglass coil threaded rod will never rust; therefore removal from a structure (as with steel threaded rod) is not necessary. Fiberglass Coil Rod is available in ½”, ¾”, and 1” diameters, offering safe working loads of up to 7,500, 12,000, and 17,000 pounds. Material is stocked in fully threaded 9′-8″ lengths and is easily cut to shorter lengths. Longer lengths can be special ordered with only the ends threaded.

SuperTie™ R6 (.308 Rod) GND6000

SuperTie™ R6 Patented Gripper System offers a 3,000 pounds safe working load and is most commonly used with job-built (plywood and 2×4) forms and handset modular forms.

SuperTie™ R15 (.500 Rod) GND15000

SuperTie™ R15 Patented Gripper System offers a 7,500 safe working load. This system’s greater strength makes it attractive to those who need heavier forms and higher concrete placement rates.

Non-Corrosive Fiberglass Smooth Rod

RJD Fiberglass Smooth Rod utilizes a specially blended and formulated custom-engineered resin, made in the USA, combining ultimate tensile strength and maximizing the RJD Gripper strength. (Do not use any non-RJD engineered rod with RJD grippers; this could result in form failure and/or injury.) RJD Fiberglass Smooth Rod will never rust, eliminating the need for breakback, plugging, and patching and allowing for superior architectural finishes. RJD Fiberglass Smooth Rod is offered in a selection of colors available for each size.

RJD Fiberglass Smooth Rod Colors:
0.308 Rod: Gray, white, tan, brown, and black
0.500 Rod: Gray

SuperTie™ CRFF 0500 (1/2”)

SuperTie™ Coil Rod Form Fixture 1/2” offers a 7,500 pounds safe working load and is most commonly used with job-built (plywood and 2×4) forms and handset modular forms.

SuperTie™ CRFF 0750 (3/4”)

SuperTie™ Coil Rod Form Fixture 3/4” offers a 12,000 pounds safe working load and is most commonly used with job-built (plywood and 2×4) forms and handset modular forms.

SuperTie™ CRFF 1000 (1”)

SuperTie™ Coil Rod Form Fixture 1” offers a 17,000 pounds safe working load and is most commonly used with job-built (plywood and 2×4) forms and handset modular forms.

Non-Corrosive Fiberglass Coil Rod

RJD Fiberglass Coil Rod utilizes a specially blended and formulated custom-engineered resin, made in the USA, combining ultimate tensile strength and the RJD Form Fixture (CRFF) strength. (Do not use any non-RJD engineered rod with RJD grippers; this could result in form failure and/or injury.) RJD Fiberglass Coil Rod will never rust, eliminating the need for breakback, plugging, and patching and allowing for superior architectural finishes. RJD Fiberglass Coil Rod is offered in ½”, ¾”, and 1” diameters.
