Zoo officials set their sights on building the new three-story Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium to replace the deteriorating 50+-year-old North Pacific Aquarium and to house several new exhibits “…so we can talk in a broader way about conservation (The News Tribune, 2015).”
EHDD employed our 1″ SuperTie™ Fiberglass Coil Rod Form-Tie System as a preventative measure against concrete corrosion and deterioration caused by saltwater, which was a significant issue in the North Pacific Aquarium. Rust stains and structural deterioration are common as a response to the failure to patch for steel form-tie holes, which our SuperTies™ prevent in every use case due to its fiberglass fabrication. Furthermore, our fiberglass ties’ variety of colors along with the elimination of any need to do break back removal or snap-tie cone patching lend to superior architectural finishes every time.
